Caution: This is 10 minutes of rambling...Iʻm in my car headed down to Hawaiian 105 KINE Radio to do my Saturday radio show. (I regular job is with Hawaii News Now Sunrise) So, Iʻm taking you along for the ride, letʻs talk story for a little while...

COVID19 has our state on lockdown. Go to work, then head right home. We an go to the store and thatʻs what wife and I went to do...except my experience was not what I expected. (Full disclosure: I was told not to video inside Longs. I was told later online that they have a long time policy against video in store. I SHOULD have asked first instead of getting disappointed. Good Lesson for me...)

My name is Billy V and Iʻm from Hawaii. Because of COVID19, we are on a "Stay at Home" mandate from our Governor, just one state out of a growing number of states doing this. Itʻs also the same week Iʻm supposed to be on vacation with my family. SO, little talk story of how my true "Stay-cation" is going....Hope you are healthy and your family is happy and healthy too. Hawaii Recording Artist Ana Vee already has her hit song "Hawaii" on Hawaii Radio Stations, but now has caught the eye of Janet Jackson who is no stranger to Hawaii. Not only has Janetʻs people reached out to Ana Vee, but has now asked her to duet the song tomorrow night at the Blaisdell Arena. Ana Vee is on cloud 9. Her mom/manager is Hawaii Recording Artist Namahana who had a hit song in 2003.

I took a couple of minutes to put together how fortunate I feel to be in this business that I love. I have a passion for celebrating moments with people, organizations, families thru emceeing, radio and television. After my run-in with cancer and surviving the ongoing health battle, I feel fortunate to be able to continue my journey.

Kaleo Phillips was on Hawaii News Now Sunrise promoting performances on the islands of Oʻahu and Maui. Kaleo originally comes from Maui and has worked a lot with Willie K. Kaleoʻs Dad and Willie played together on gigs in Willieʻs younger days in Lahaina.

Taylor Inouye in 2018, was an 8th grader at Honwanji Mission School and made it on to national television as part of the Food Networksʻ Kids Baking Championships in Season 5. Taylor made it to the finals in the competition. She still maintains close relations with most of her competitors and visits them or appears on social media with them. She now attends Punahou School in Hawaii and makes monthly appearances on Hawaii News Now Sunrise (CBS/NBC)
